19th July 2024 - Zanu PF Must Go

TO THE NEWLY ELECTED GOVERNMENT, fao Sir Keir Starmer; PRIME MINISTER OF THE UK

THE ONGOING CONSTITUTIONAL INJUSTICE, INCACERATION OF THE OPPOSITION MEMBERS ALIGNED TO ADVOCATE NELSON CHAMISA, AND ABUSE OF HUMAN RIGHTS.

We, as the Zimbabwean diaspora, have written several petitions to the UK government {including the FCDO} and carried out various protests in the UK against the Zanu-PF regime in Zimbabwe. Which we feel have illegally and unconstitutionally declared itself as the elected government of Zimbabwe. With ED Mnangagwa as their {illegal} President!

Emmerson Mnangagwa, the current President of Zimbabwe, has been accused of using various tactics to maintain power and suppress opposition, including:

1. Coercion and intimidation: Using security forces to silence political opponents and critics.
2. Propaganda and disinformation: Controlling state media to spread false information and propaganda.
3. Repression of dissent: Cracking down on protests and demonstrations, often with violence.
4. Patronage and clientelism: Rewarding loyalists with government positions and resources.
5. Electoral manipulation: Allegedly rigging elections to maintain power.
6. Divisive politics: Using ethnic and regional divisions to consolidate power.
7. Corruption and cronyism: Accused of enriching himself and allies through corrupt means.
8. Surveillance and infiltration: Infiltrating opposition parties and civil society organizations.
9. Lawfare: Using the legal system to silence opponents and critics.
10. Charm offensive: Presenting himself as a reformer and democrat to international audiences.

These tactics have been criticized by opposition parties, civil society, and international observers, who accuse Mnangagwa of undermining democracy and human rights in Zimbabwe.

Indeed, the failure to respect the voting intentions of the Zimbabwean people, in the {highly disputed} elections carried out over 23-24^th August 2023 – but the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission {ZEC} have never declared the voting numbers to this date, they simply claimed that Mnangagwa had “won” with 54% of the total vote.

Worldwide criticism of the procedures, processes and declarations by ZEC have been proclaimed, but the Zanu PF regime simply occupied their {false} parliament, claiming a ‘majority’.

Thereafter, the Zanu PF regime, cynically and unconstitutionally, simply carried out a process to remove opposition (then Citizens Coalition for Change) elected MP’s from parliament. This process involved falsification of the opposition Secretary General’s identity, to remove the CCC MP’s. Aided and abetted by the “Leader of the House”.

The current situation in Zimbabwe is clearly a “ONE-PARTY STATE”, headed by the deranged E D Mnangagwa, and enforced by the total domination, by the Zanu PF regime, of all and every government Institution, the Military, Judiciary and Police. We also suspect that the global "acceptance" of this situation by Governments and regional bodies is not aiding the democratic obligations implicit in this undesirable situation.

We have raised the issue of the false election several times to the previous government {on 15^th September and 13^th December 2023}, eliciting a single response from the then Minister for Africa – which amounted to nothing. {see of previous comments below in italics}

International and Coordinated Diplomatic Action against Zimbabwe Politicians {Principally Zanu PF} MUST CONTINUE due to their implication in Murder, Torture, Abductions, Incarceration {without trial}, Gold smuggling, Election Rigging and ‘Jerrymandering’ 13^th December 2023

THEREFORE WE PETITION THE UK GOVERNMENT AND ALL MINISTERS TO;

• NOT recognise E D Mnangagwa as the President of Zimbabwe, as ‘illegally’ & erroneously’ proclaimed by the Corrupted ZEC without verified numerical evidence;
• NOT recognise the current ‘majority’ of Zanu PF MP’s etc in the Zimbabwe Parliament, for the same reasons as above – no verified numerical evidence;
• NOT recognise the recent illegal ‘by elections’ and their manufactured results as fabricated by ZEC.
• NOT to honour Mthuli with the award of “Best African Finance minister” as reported on BBC Africa

The new US Ambassador takes up her role in Zimbabwe, but still feels that the 23-24th August 2023 Elections were NOT free or Fair! The US will continue to pressure the poor Governance in Zimbabwe, which is clearly having an effect on the general population -[ in terms of poverty, corruption, state capture - and everything in our petition plus, drought, cholera/typhoid (due to non-maintained and broken sewages systems - and excessive use of boreholes (in polluted ground))]
